My husband and I are planning a vacation in May of 2014 and we are unsure of where we are going to stay. The two resorts we are tossing back and forth are the POR-Riverside and All Stars-Movie. What would you suggest considering this is our 1st trip and $$

    Hi Lindsey,

If it is in your budget, I would definitely recommend Port Orleans Riverside (a Moderate Resort) over the All Star Movie Resort (a Value Resort). The Moderate Resorts all have slides in the pools and an on-site Table Service Restaurant as well as a fantastic food court. I stayed at Port Orleans Riverside last year and it was wonderful. You can enjoy the ferry boat ride to Downtown Disney which is relaxing. In addition, there are horse drawn carriage rides, boat rentals and so much more. Honestly, there isn't a comparison between All Star Movies and Port Orleans Riverside. That being said, All Star Movies is a very nice and clean Value Resort. If you don't plan on spending much time at your resort, then it is a great option. All Star Movies has larger than life icons and is bright and cheery. Their pool does not have a water slide and the only option for onsite dining is food court.

If I were traveling with my husband and I was looking for a relaxing and romantic Moderate Resort to come back to at the end of a busy park day, I would choose either Port Orleans French Quarter or Port Orleans Riverside.

I hope this helps and that you have a wonderful vacation,
