My husband and I are planning a trip to WDW and I have a lot of food allergies. We are staying at the Bay Lake towers and I would really like to find somewhere to buy some groceries so I can make my own food. Is there a grocery store close the WDW property

Hi, Jared! Although you may have found different experiences elsewhere, Walt Disney World encourages guests with food allergies and requirements to contact the Food & Beverage Team with Special Dietary Requests.  Therefore, I would encourage you to call 407-WDW-DINE and make Advanced Dining Reservations. All you will need to do is inform the Cast Member who takes your reservation of your allergies and needs. Plus, you might want to e-mail a member of the Food & Beverage Team at SpecialDiets@DisneyWorld.com. Then, when you arrive at your reservation, you will need to inform your server of your special requests. Since you're staying at Bay Lake Tower, I would encourage to make a reservation at The California Grill atop The Contemporary. I think you'll be impressed with the cuisine, the chefs and the view!

Now that I've hopefully talked you into eating a few meals out of your villa, you also can grab a few groceries at the sundries store located in the lobby of The Contemporary.  There are a few fresh options as well as gluten-free and lactose-free products. If you have a car or can grab a cab, there are several grocery stores in the area including Wal-Mart, Publix and Whole Foods with plenty of options for those with food allergies. I hope this helps you plan! Come back if you have more questions or concerns.

Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation!
