    me and my husband are planning a trip for may 2022! do we have to purchase tickets before we can get the new magic keys plans? and what all are the plans about?

    Hiya Jessica! Welcome to planDisney, and thank you so much for coming by to see us! I am excited to hear that you’re planning a visit to Walt Disney World in 2022. With so much exciting change on the horizon, you’ve picked a great time to visit and make sure you are familiar with all the amazing developments to come! 


    I see you’re interested in the Magic Key program. That program is specific to Disneyland, not Walt Disney World. What I think you may be referring to instead is Disney Genie! This amazing new development will be released later this fall and will allow Guests to plan the Disney day of their dreams! Plus, with the option of Disney Genie+ and Individual Attraction Selections, you will be able to choose to add additional experiences and decreased wait times to your day if you choose to! This can help you take the guesswork out of a Disney vacation, make fantastic itineraries based on real-time information, and prepare for your best vacation ever, one day at a time! Disney Genie will be available right from your My Disney Experience Mobile App for all users. While we do not yet have the exact details, I imagine you will not need to purchase tickets to use it, but some features will likely be limited to Guests during their active vacations. For example, Individual Attraction selections will be available for purchase at 7 a.m. each day you plan to visit a Theme Park, provided you are staying at a Disney Resort Hotel. Otherwise, offsite Guests will be able to access these features at the time of Park opening each morning.
