Hello. My husband and I are planning a trip to disney in the fall with our two girls, 6 and 3. We would like to go in the beginning of October but I want to avoid the fall break for the southern schools. Is there anywhere to find this information?

    Hi Meghan,

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question! As a lifelong southerner I thought I would answer your question. Unfortunately, there is no clear answer. I plan events for middle and high school young people and spend some time looking at school calendars. In North Carolina I have rarely found any school districts that follow the same schedule. In the three counties surrounding my own county, all of the schools follow different calendars!

I do know that some schools try to use Columbus Day(October 13 this year) as part of their fall break. Otherwise, fall breaks jump around from mid-October to mid-November.

I have to admit, October is my very favorite time to visit Walt Disney World. I think whenever you choose will be a good time to go!

Please let me know if you have any other questions I can help you with!
Wishing you happy planning and a magical vacation,
    Amy H.
