Hi Erika!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so excited that you are considering a
Transatlantic Disney Cruise! My family sailed across the Atlantic with Captain Mickey last May and it was just wonderful! In fact, I wanted to book it again this year, but school schedules got in the way and we can’t make it work this year…but we will definitely plan another Transatlantic itinerary in the future!
Disney Cruise Line’s Transatlantic itineraries are repositioning voyages, which means the ship is being moved from one area of the world for some seasonal voyages. So, if you embark in Miami for the Eastbound Transatlantic voyage, you would disembark in Barcelona at the end of your voyage. Then, the Disney Magic would begin sailing through Europe for the summer. If you were considering the Westbound Transatlantic voyage, you would embark in Europe and disembark in a US port.
My family loves repositioning cruises because you essentially get to start your vacation in one location and end it in a completely new location – along with unique stops on the way! The Transatlantic voyage is especially unique because once you get to Europe, you have so many destinations you can choose to go from there; you can either book a flight and head straight back home OR you can venture out to a new destination! My family took a short flight to Paris for a few days at the end of our journey across the Atlantic and even got to visit Disneyland Paris for a few more magical days!
Reservations for your Disney Cruise Line vacation can be made online, by contacting Disney Cruise Line at (800) 951-3532 or contacting your travel agent to make the arrangements for you! Once you do get your adventure booked, please come back with any and all your planning questions!
