My husband and I are planning to take son, daughter-in-law and 3 grandchildren they will be 6,4 and 3 May 2012. I would like to stay at a hotel where we have monorail service. Would the Polynesian Resort be a good choice? Is there a sandy beach there?

    Hi Kathleen,

There are four Disney resorts on the monorail line in the Magic Kingdom area of the Walt Disney Resort.  You may choose from Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Bay Lake Tower, Disney's Contemporary Resort, and Disney's Polynesian Resort.

The Polynesian is a wonderful choice. I just stayed there last month and enjoyed the experience immensely.  This deluxe resort is nestled along the Seven Seas Lagoon directly across from the Magic Kingdom so it is a great place from which to watch the fireworks over Cinderella Castle at night.  The resort rooms here are among the largest on property.  They feel incredibly spacious and have a charming tropical decor.  There is a beautifully themed volcano pool with a water slide in addition to a white sandy beach.  One of my favorite spots on all of Disney property is a hammock or swing on that alluring beach.  The troubles of the world all just seem to melt away while swinging lazily on that beach.  And don't forget to try their world-famous tropical ice cream desserts in Captain Cook's, the resort quick service restaurant!

I would highly recommend this resort for your family.

    Best wishes,
    Jill
