Hi Mary Ann!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so glad you found us and posted your question on how to begin planning for what will be an amazing trip for your family in which you will make memories that will last a lifetime! Disney Cruise Line has so many wonderful things to offer to all ages, but your kids’ ages are PERFECT for enjoying it all!
Be sure to look around the Disney Cruise Line website. There you will find useful information about all the different itineraries currently released as well as the different ports that each itinerary visits. You can find deck plans,
Port Adventures available and much much more. Additionally, you can certainly come back here to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and we will be glad to answer any additional questions and guide you in the right direction!
If leaving from Port Canaveral, my suggestion is to try to find a hotel in Port Canaveral for the night prior to embarkation. Port Canaveral is approximately 45 miles from Orlando International Airport, so being close to the Port will allow you to have a leisurely morning prior to arriving to the Port. Cocoa Beach is not far from Port Canaveral and is an option for staying the night before. Look for a hotel that provides shuttles to the Port.
To get to Port Canaveral, you can arrange
transfers through Disney Cruise Line or private transfers are available. Some guests will even rent a car from the airport and drive themselves to Port Canaveral if they are planning on doing any sightseeing beforehand.
This will be a vacation you won't forget! I am so excited for whats to come for your family!
Happy Sailing!
Stephanie
