Hey there, Kayla, and welcome to planDisney! I'm so happy you're here with this great question about your upcoming visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth! Congratulations on your precious new additions - what an exciting time for your sweet family!
Kayla, from one mom to another, please rest assured that I'll be completely candid with you. I've been in a similar position and understand the difficulty. At this point, you know that, as wonderful as it is to enjoy life with your babies, it's also exhausting. There is so much delight in trying new experiences together! Only you and your husband can decide what's best, and I have full confidence that you'll make a great choice.
The benefits of bringing the girls along with you to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party include the fact that you don't need to purchase a ticket for them, you'll get some fabulous photos, you can take advantage of the
Baby Care Center, and
strollers are welcome at Magic Kingdom Park. The list of reasons to reconsider bringing them includes their sleep and feeding schedule, your personal energy level, and logistics. Let's dive in a little deeper.
Preparing to bring little ones to a Disney Theme Park is kind of like getting ready to go camping. There are lots of items I suggest bringing, but aside from what's already in your diaper bag, you'll want to pack a change of clothes, ear protection, and make sure their stroller has a fan. I suggest bringing your own stroller, rather than
renting one at the park, because the girls are so small and likely need to be strapped in.
Depending on how you feed your babies, you might want to visit the Baby Care Center. It offers multiple changing tables, a quiet room for feeding, a microwave to warm bottles, a few essentials available for purchase, and air conditioning! If you're bringing a cooler, remember that
loose ice is not permitted, so use ice packs to keep your items cold.
If you choose not to bring the girls, you can still visit the Baby Care Center if you need to pump. I suggest renting a locker at the front of the park or asking if the Baby Care Center can store your items for you while you enjoy the party.
Before I had children, I visited Walt Disney World with my husband's family. His sister had a two-month-old son at the time, and while she was able to generally keep him on his feeding and sleeping schedule, I can't say that it was an entirely stress-free visit. She and her husband needed to stop often to tend to him, and, from the outside looking in, it seemed like it might have been more work than she expected. That experience influenced my husband and me to stay home when we had a two-month-old of our own and his family returned to Walt Disney World. It made us so sad to stay behind, but I knew I would not have enjoyed my time there to the fullest because of my son's schedule and needs. We opted to visit with him a few months later, when he was about eight months old, and it was an absolute delight! He loved taking in all of the sights and sounds, and we loved seeing everything through his eyes.
Kayla, please know that your baby girls would be welcome Guests at
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Whether you choose to bring them or not, I hope you have the very best time celebrating spooky season! Please stop by with any other questions - you have a friend in me!
See ya real soon!
