My husband and I are planning to go to Disneyland for the 1st time in Feb. We are wondering which Good Neighbor hotel is the best bang for the buck? I see another of across the street and a lot a few miles away. We do not plan on renting a car. Thank you!

Welcome to planDisney, Mallory! My wife and I often stay at Good Neighbor hotels, because of their value and proximity to the Disneyland Resort. Because we visit nearly every month, we are always on the hunt for hotels with the right combination of price and distance to the parks. I am happy to share some of the hotels we frequent to help you search for the right hotel.

If you're looking for hotels that are closest to the Disneyland Resort, we have stayed at the Fairfield Inn by Marriott Anaheim Resort, the Camelot Inn & Suites, and the Tropicana Inn & Suites, which are all rated as Moderate on the Disneyland website. Of these three, the Camelot Inn & Suites offers a nice balance of price and proximity to the parks. (I've timed it at less than a 10-minute walk from the hotel entrance to the Esplanade.) However, if you are looking for the shortest distance to the park, anything on Harbor Boulevard, between West Manchester Avenue and Disney Way, will generally offer the shortest walk to the parks.

If you are looking for a hotel that may offer a few more amenities, but is still within walking distance, you may want to check out the Hotel Lulu Anaheim Resort. This is rated as Deluxe on the Disneyland website and is about a 15-20 minute walk to the Esplanade. You can also use a rideshare service, if you would prefer, to cut down the time. The rideshare drop-off area is located just outside the Disneyland Resort entrance, saving you some time and steps.

Finally, the JW Marriott Anaheim Resort is rated Superior, the highest Good Neighbor Hotel classification on the Disneyland website, and, having stayed here, it definitely fits that rating. If the 20-25 minute walk is a bit too far, there are a couple of alternative options for arriving at the Disneyland Resort. First, you can use a ride share service here as well. Second, the Toy Story Parking Lot is across the street and you can board a free shuttle here, provided by the Disneyland Resort, to arrive at the parks.

As you can see, Mallory, the choice of where to stay while visiting the Disneyland Resort is truly up to you! No matter whether your priority is value, proximity, or extra amenities, there is an option to fit your needs. If you have any other questions or would like any additional tips prior to your visit, please reach out to us at planDisney again!

May you have a magical stay!
