My husband and I are planning our first WDW trip for Feburary 2012, just a few weeks before our son's 3rd birthday. At this age and height of approximately 36 inches, what rides will he be old enough and tall enough to enjoy?

    Hi Vanessa,

Welcome to the Moms Panel - we're glad you're hEAR! Congratulations on planning your first trip to Disney World!

Your son will be able to ride any of the attractions where he meets the height requirements. You can find a list of the attractions with height requirements by visiting the Traveling with Little Ones section on the Disney World Website. There you will find a PDF file on the right side of that page that lists attractions at all four of the theme parks that have height requirements.

You know your son better than anyone, but keep in mind that just because an attraction doesn't have a height requirement, doesn't mean that every child should ride it. Haunted Mansion is a great example.

Magic Kingdom (MK) is my top recommendation for kids (or anyone). Here are some attractions I'd recommend for him in that park:

    • Walt Disney World Railroad (sit towards the back because of the whistle)
    • Magic Carpets of Aladdin
    • Jungle Cruise
    • "it's a small world"
    • Peter Pan's Flight
    • Prince Charming Regal Carrousel
    • Dumbo
    • Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
    • PeopleMover
    • Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
I'm limited in space for my answer but I'm happy to suggest attractions at other parks if you let me know which others you'll be visiting.

Wishing you many magical memories :-) Allison
