Hi, my husband and I are planning our first visit in March but I wanted to ask some advice. I suffer with pretty awful sciatica and standing for long periods of time exacerbate this. Bizarrely it is better if I keep moving. What are my options in the parks

    Hi Lauren!

Congratulations on your first visit to Walt Disney World Resort, how exciting!

Unfortunately, I know all too well about what you are going through, and it is no fun at all. The good news is that you will be in “The Most Magical Place on Earth” so that it will bring some relief within itself.

Have you considered renting a wheelchair? A wheelchair will allow you to sit and enjoy the attraction queues while at the same time let you do some walking should you need to. Once you get the urge to walk, find the right spot to park the wheelchair and enjoy some different activities that include a yummy meal, some shopping, or all-around memory making. Once you have done enough walking, head back to the wheelchair, and enjoy the rest of the day.  Please note that there is a fee associated with renting a wheelchair, but I think you will find the overall cost reasonable. Also, an ECV is an option.

At the end of the day, it’s about the quality of time you spend with your husband, and there is no sense in possibly causing more undue pain and stress on your body.

Please let us know if you need additional assistance prior to your arrival!

    Have a magical first-time visit!
