My husband and I are planning on doing the wine and dine as our first half. We are curious if it makes a difference to stay at a host hotel and what the difference is. Please let us know! Thank you

Hi Sarah!  The Wine and Dine half marathon is my favorite runDisney race!  I love running at night and the after-party is so much fun!
It does make a big difference when you stay at a host resort.  The host resorts are the only ones that will provide bus transportation to and from the expo for race packet pick-up and also to and from the race.  This is a big deal because it takes all of the stress of getting to and from these events out of the equation.  The expo and race would only be accessible from other resorts by paying for a cab or if you had your own transportation.  Traffic at race times can be a nightmare.  You definitely want to choose a host resort if at all possible.  The host resorts also offer a discounted rate for runners.  Here is the link to the host resort list for the Wine and Dine half marathon.
Let me know if I can help you guys plan any more for the Wine and Dine.  My husband and I ran it together last year, and we had a great time!
