My husband and I are planning a 10 day trip to WDW for our daughter's 5th birthday. The whole family is going, about 9 people, & we will be there for Thanksgiving. How far in advance should I book everything? Are there special things to do for a birth

Hi Amanda! If you are talking about a trip to Disney for this Thanksgiving, 2012, then you need to get right into making some reservations. If you are planning for 2013 it is a great time to start thinking and planning.

You can book your room right now. For all dining and recreation most can be booked up to 180 days out from your arrival date. To get reservations at some of the highly sought after spots such as Cinderella's Royal Table, chef Mickey, Le Cellier, and others you need to be right at the phone or computer to make those on your 180 date.  Make a general plan so you know what parks you might wish to visit on certain days and make dining reservations in the parks. Pick a variety of locations so you can see different parts of the property such as the resorts.

Birthdays are fun at Disney no matter what age you turn.  Pick up a birthday button for her to wear, order a cake for her meals, and call the Disney florist to have them deliver something special to her room that day. They have things from simple arrangements to room decorating packages. They do amazing work and there is nothing more special then to open the door to a big surprise!

Thanksgiving is a busy aware of your deadlines and dates to make reservations and you should have no issue in planning a great vacation!
