My husband and I are planning a day at Disneyland Paris in September for our 20th anniversary. What are your top recommendations for attractions, food, and entertainment?

    Bonjour!

Welcome back to planDisney, Jennifer. Thank you for stopping by with another of your questions. I love helping fellow Guests plan the perfect vacation to Disney Destinations around the world. Having got married at Walt Disney World last year, I understand what a magical place Disney Parks are to celebrate special occasions. Let’s talk about your upcoming visit to Disneyland Paris.

If this is your first time visiting, you are in for a treat. Sleeping Beauty Castle in Paris is, in my opinion, the most beautiful of them all. Don't miss out on exploring the inside of the castle, and what lurks in the cave beneath it! I can't wait for you to see it for yourself. For a one-day visit, here’s how I’d recommend making the most of your time.

I suggest getting a two-park ticket, known as a hopper ticket at the US parks, which will let you experience both Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park in a single day. As it’s a special occasion, Disney Premier Access Ultimate is well worth considering. It allows you to skip the standby line at the most popular attractions, which will help you pack more magic into your day. Some key experiences to prioritise are Big Thunder Mountain, Hyperspace Mountain and Phantom Manor in Disneyland Park, and Tower of Terror, Crush's Coaster and Avengers Assemble: Flight Force in Walt Disney Studios Park. These particular attractions are either unique to Paris or offer a fresh twist on their US counterparts. Thunder Mountain in Paris really is the Wildest Ride in the Wilderness as you hurtle at high speed through caves under the Rivers of the Far West. And prepare for multiple inversions as you battle the First Order on Hyperspace Mountain!

Entertainment is where Disneyland Paris really stands out, and although there’s too much to fit into just one day, I’d recommend doing what you can to see The Lion King: Rhythms of the Pride Lands in Frontierland and Mickey and the Magician at Walt Disney Studios Park. To end your day in the most magical way, be sure to stay for Disney Tales of Magic, the nighttime spectacular at Disneyland Park. You can use the Disneyland Paris app to book reserved viewing areas for the shows, subject to availability.

If you're looking for a memorable meal, try and get a reservation at Walt’s – an American Restaurant. It’s located on the upper floor of Main Street, U.S.A., and the dining rooms are themed as a Victorian-style tribute to the lands of Disneyland Park. It’s a great way to take a break and relax while enjoying some great food, and soak up the atmosphere of the park, and if you plan it right, you just might see Disney Stars on Parade out of the window!

I hope this helps as you plan your trip, Jennifer! Wishing you and your husband a happy 20th wedding anniversary this September! If you have any further planning questions, please reach out to me. I'd love to help!

    See ya real soon!
