Hi Valerie:
Happy Anniversary. Although subject to change every year, Disney typically starts putting up Christmas decorations around the second week of November, sometimes even earlier. By Thanksgiving, expect to see the parks fully decorated for the Holidays. In true Disney fashion, the decorations are set up at night, as if by magic. Starting in November, you may start to notice more and more Christmas and Holiday decorations where you did not see them the day before.
Disney World can be extremely romantic. I would start by making an advance dining reservation for dinner. My number one pick for a special meal would be
California Grill atop the Contemporary Resort. California Grill features delicious California Fusion cooking and spectacular views of the Magic Kingdom and the Wishes fireworks show. I would also recommend
Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge, which serves dishes influenced by African, Indian, and Mediterranean cuisine, and
Victoria and Albert's at the Grand Floridian, a winner year-after-year of the prestigious AAA Five Diamond award.
After dinner, I would head to Downtown Disney for a stroll through the shops and to take a balloon ride on
Characters in Flight (a very romantic experience with a breathtaking view of Disney World property and beyond.) Or, head to Epcot and stroll around the countries of World Showcase, taking in a drink or dessert.
Enjoy this special vacation.
