My husband and I are planning to bring our children to wdw. They will be 1 & 3 at the time. What is there for them to do & where do they meet characters?

    Hi Hayley:

My boys are 8 and 6, and we've been taking them to Walt Disney World since they were infants.  For their must-dos growing up, among many other things, at the Magic Kingdom, we always ride the Jungle Cruise, Peter Pan's Flight, Mickey's PhilharMagic, and it's a small world. At Epcot, we take in Spaceship Earth, Living with the Land, and tour the countries of World Showcase through Agent P's World Showcase Adventure. Your young ones are likely too short for Soarin', so I would take advantage of rider swap for that attraction.  Highlights of World Showcase are the Kidcot Fun Stops, which are craft stations where children can draw and color while learning about different cultures as they interact with Cast Members from around the world. Our must-dos at Hollywood Studios include Toy Story Mania and Muppet Vision 3-D. At Animal Kingdom, our family always rides the Kilimanjaro Safari and visits Conservation Station.

For my family, the best place to meet characters were at character meals such as Chef Mickey's for Mickey and friends or Crystal Palace for Pooh and friends, where characters come to you while you eat. There many other character meals including restaurant where you can dine with princesses, such as at Cinderella's Royal Table and Akershus Royal Banquet Hall.  To find characters in the Parks, pick up a Times Guide when you enter the Park.  Also check out the official My Disney Experience App that will provide a lot of up to the minute information, including character experiences.

    Enjoy your vacation.
