My husband and I plan on running in the Marathon weekend January 2017. If we stay at Boardwalk, can we walk to EPCOT for the race?

    Hi George!

Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

The Boardwalk area resorts are our favorite places to stay for race weekends.  However, you cannot walk to the start of a race from there.  The International Gateway entrance into Epcot will not be open that early. There are runDisney buses that pick you up at the resort and take you to the start.  It's a short trip on a comfortable bus.

You can walk back to Disney's Boardwalk Inn Resort IF you have park admission into Epcot that day. Truthfully, after the marathon, it's much easier to just get back on a runDisney bus (and sit down!) than to walk all the way through the park back to the room, but you definitely can.

I have stayed at the Boardwalk Inn for the last three marathon weekends and it's been perfect!

I hope this helps.  Please let me know if you have any other questions.
