I love using my Pirate Pass to go to Disney World -- and I love that I can go after 2pm without a reservation (as long as it is not Magic Kingdom on Saturday or Sunday) on applicable days. The Disney policy does currently state that Annual Pass blockout dates still apply to this 2pm rule. This means that if your Annual Pass is blocked out for the day you'd like to visit after 2pm, you'll need another form of valid admission to scan into the theme parks.
You may want to look at other options in the
Annual Pass tiers, as some of the passes offer more flexibility when it comes to days you can visit, and the price fluctuation is worth it for the additional dates available for you to visit the parks!
You can always spend some time enjoying non-theme-park activities to get your boost of magic if you decide not to upgrade or purchase another form of admission for your particular blockout date! You may want to explore the
Waterparks, Disney Springs,
Mini Golf, or a whole slew of
Enchanting Extras! I even enjoy using the Disney Transportation to go from Disney Resort to Disney Resort. Wandering around the gift shops and enjoying the culinary scene at a variety of Disney Hotels is a dream!
