My husband passed away shortly after purchasing the magicbands Can my son (same name) use it

Greetings, Virginia, and welcome back to planDisney, we thank you for consulting us.

Virginia, please accept my sincere condolences for the passing of your husband, I wish you all the very best and am pleased to see that you are inquiring about Disney-related topics, which can only mean you might be ready to return to Walt Disney World Resort.

MagicBands are specific to each Guest when associated or linked to their Disney account. This association makes the MagicBand unique to the Guest so that they may be able to access entitlements, such as theme park admission, for example, and other personal MagicBand entitlements. Therefore, if this is the case, I am sorry to say that the MagicBand cannot be transferred to your son, even though he shares the same name as your late husband.

Virginia, if the MagicBand has not been linked to My Disney Experience yet, and has not been associated or linked to your husband in your Family & Friends list, then I would highly recommend contacting Walt Disney World Resort - My Disney Experience and MagicBands for further guidance. Kindly have your husband’s MagicBand with you when making the call as the Cast Member will ask for the ID number on the back of the MagicBand.

As soon as this matter is settled and you are ready to purchase Walt Disney World Resort theme park tickets, please check the Walt Disney World Resort - Theme Park Reservation Availability calendar with a few dates in mind to secure your dates as this is the system in place for visiting the theme parks at this time.

I hope I was able to help you, Virginia, please stop by planDisney for any other planning needs.
