Hi! My husband and I will be participating in the half marathon in Jan. A friend would love to run with us. However, she never registered and the race is now full. She is wondering if she can tag along during the race and forego the benefits of regist

    Hi Trish!

The Disney World Half Marathon is a really fun race!  You and your husband will love it!

RunDisney does not allow what my friends and I call "bandit running" in their races.  This is due to the fact that there are so many runners that are registered that it just wouldn't be safe to allow more.  It also wouldn't be fair to paid registrants to allow non-paying runners to enjoy the same magical race route.

There is another option for your friend.  There are still a few charity groups that have half marathon availabilities if she would want to go that route.  You can find the charity group information on the Disney World Marathon weekend website.  Click on the "REGISTRATION" tab, and then "charity groups".    She could also call the "travel operators" on that same tab, to see if they have anything for her.

I hope this helps and I hope it works out for your friend!  Please let me know if you have any other questions.
