Hi Mallory! First of all, please send a warm congrats to your husband on his new job! Hopefully, you will both be able to make it to the Happiest Place on Earth to celebrate soon!
The good news about Disneyland Resort tickets is that they have a lot of magic built into each and every one. For
tickets purchased this year, there is quite a long runway for your magic carpet as single-day tickets will not expire until December 30, 2023 and multi-day tickets until January 12, 2024. If for some reason you aren't able to make it ahead of the expiration, you can even put the value of the original ticket purchase towards new tickets of equal or higher value. So ... the magic never fully runs out!
In terms of your theme park reservations, you have until 11:59 p.m. PST the evening before your arrival to cancel. When you open up your Disneyland Mobile App, head into the three-bar menu in the lower right-hand corner and select "Future Plans". From here, you will click on the date you need to change and select "Cancel Reservation". You will need to do this individually for each date you are canceling.
When it comes to finding the best time to return to the magic, I always like to keep an eye on the
theme park reservation calendar, which will help you determine which dates are open in the future. Reservations are limited and subject to availability, so even if a trip is still in the dream phase, I would secure your reservations. They can be made up to 120 days out, and, of course, can always be canceled if need be.
When you are able to make it back, be sure to check out the
Entertainment Schedule for your dates for any must-see shows and nighttime spectaculars that you won't want to miss! This spring will see the return of
World of Color,
Disneyland Forever fireworks, and the
Main Street Electrical Parade so once again our nights will be filled with wonder!
Mallory, I hope this was helpful in your planning. Reach out if you have any more questions! We are always here for you at
planDisney.
Magic awaits!
Tara
