My husband, myself and our 3 year old will be traveling with my brother, sister-in-law and their 2 kids in Dec.'10. When we eat at a restaurant and have the bill split, will the 18% gratuity still be added on, or will we be able to add on what we want?

    Cassie:

I just got back from Disney and ate several meals with a group who had multiple checks.

The gratuity is automatically added based on your seated party, not the number of bills that are presented to the table. If you are seated with at least six in your party, most restaurants on property will add gratuity.

So, if your reservation is for your family, and your brother's family and your family are seated together, your bills will both have the gratuity added to them. Because your trip is in December something might change, but this was the policy at the restaurants for my recent visit.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
