Me and my husband moved to california and we are staying with his aunt for free due to the pandemic. We do not have any bills in our name or a California ID. She bought us tickets to go to disneyland with her and her daughter, how do we prove residency?

Hi there, Amya! Welcome to planDisney, where it would be my pleasure to chat with you about visiting Disneyland soon! Congratulations on your move to California. As you know, Disneyland is officially reopened! However, for the time being, it is only possible for California residents to visit. This brings about the need for proof of California residency. I have checked with Guest Services, and they confirmed that this would need to be in the form of a government-issued ID. It does not have to be a driver’s license but instead can be a state-issued ID card, which you can obtain at a local DMV office. My best advice would be to obtain one before attempting to enter the Theme Parks, as the regulations are stringent at this time per state ordinances. Otherwise, you run the risk of being turned away at the gates to the Happiest Place on Earth, and this would make for a non-magical visit for sure!

Amya, I hope that this information is helpful to you, and that you can soon enjoy an incredible Disneyland visit with your very generous relative! Also, please know that we are here for you anytime you’d like to come back and check in with us again. Information is changing rapidly, and we aim to always provide the most updated details to you!

    Wishing you many magical memories,
    Clara
