My husband, my mother-in-law, 2 kids (10 and 12) and I are scheduled to visit Disney December 19 - 24, 2008, what would the weather be like and would it be a busy time. Would we be able to see any Parades while we are there?

    Hello Cherie,

A little bit of bad news and a little bit of good news!  Let's start with the bad news.....if you look at the pricing schedule/chart for the WDW Resorts, you will see that from December 19-31 is definitely categorized as "Holiday pricing" which is the most expensive time you could pick to spend time at a WDW Resort.  The historic attendance trends schedule does list the week before Christmas to be a low attendance period and Christmas week until New Years Day to be the highest attendance period at WDW.  The good news is that you hopefully will have a couple of days with not too many crowds (19th-21st) as I believe from past Christmas vacations I did not experience the crazy crowds until around the 22nd or 23rd of December!  I think the crowds are manageable either way....just take a deep breath and go for it!

The weather is also good news....not too hot and not too cold (hopefully!).  The normal high for December is about 73F and the normal low is 52F.  I find it warm enough for shorts and short sleeved shirts during the day and cold enough to wear long pants and long sleeves in the evenings. December typically is warm during the day and humid enough at night to keep most nights from getting cold. Yes, a freaky sub-32F day is possible, but it's quite unlikely.  Please visit the December Calendar on the WDW website and click on each day that you are there in order to retrieve information about the parades and fireworks (for each Theme Park) that will be available for your viewing during your holiday!  Have a very magical Christmas vacation at WDW.

    Best wishes,
    Brigitta
