My husband is in the military and we would like to go to wdw for our honeymoon a year and a half late. Any suggestions on trying to plan without really knowing dates to go?

    Hello Saraphia!

Congratulations!  We honeymooned at Walt Disney World as well.

I definitely understand where you're coming from with wanting to plan but not knowing dates.  We've had to plan a few of our vacations around deployments and I'm planning our next one around unknown transfer dates.  It can get very frustrating at times, especially when you're a big planner like I am (and it sounds like you are, too).

My suggestion is to start doing a lot of research while you wait for dates. Get some guide books, search around the Moms Panel site, and browse the Walt Disney World site.  Start thinking about where you'd like to stay.  Make a "Top 3" list in case your number one choice isn't available.

Then start making your Disney Dream Sheet!  Think about how many days you'd like to stay, where you'd like to eat, what other activities you'd like to do.  If you know the time of year you may be visiting, look to see if there are anySpecial Events around that time.

You can also start planning out your budget at this time so you can figure out how much money you may want to save or put aside. Think about tickets, if you'd want to do the dining plan, etc.

Once you have your dates, you'll be all set to go through your lists and start booking all of your romantic honeymoon details.

I am very excited for you to take your long-awaited honeymoon.  I hope the time flies and you're making magical memories with your husband very soon!
