My husband and I would like to do the 1/2 marathon but our kids will be travelling with us.. is there some cheer section that the kids would be supervised by disney staff members while we run...

Hi Heather!  I understand your dilemma.  My husband and I are both runners as well.  The only time we have ever BOTH run, either my parents were there to keep my boys, or we went to Disney without them for the weekend.  However, since becoming a mom's panelist, I have learned about a company called "Kids Nite Out".  It is an independent company that is used on Walt Disney World property for childcare services.  I polled all of my fellow moms panelists, and there were more than a dozen of them that have used this service.  They were all completely positive experiences.  Most of them use them on every visit for a date night.  I am planing to use them for this year's Wine and Dine half marathon while my husband and I run.  They are available 24/7.  Please check out this link to the "Kids Nite Out" company on the Disney World website for more information.  Some Disney Resorts also offer childcare services, but their operating hours don't usually coincide with race times.
I hope this helps!  Let me know if I can help you with any other planning advice for your family's vacation or your race!
