My husband and I will be making our first WDW trip in Sept (12th to 19th) and have a 7 day park hopper pass I was wondering if it would be better to visit one of the parks on our first day or just relax at the resort that day, arriving in FL around 930am.

    Hi Diane!

I usually spend my first day at the resort, checking everything out, putting our stuff away and maybe heading over to Downtown Disney to leisurely look in the shops.  Other times I jump right in after dropping our stuff off and head straight to a park.  It’s really up to you and how you’re feeling when you arrive.  If you would rather save a free day for the middle of your vacation to relax and recoup before going to play with Mickey again, then head straight for a park.  I know a lot of families who have a tradition of spending the first and last day of their vacation at Magic Kingdom, opening and closing with Wishes fireworks.  Maybe you should start your own first day traditions!

    Enjoy your vacation!
