    Hello! My husband loves Port Orleans RS because of its laid back quiet atmosphere. This trip we are staying at Art of Animation. Will he be happy there or wishing he was back in PO RS where it's quiet? Hoping it has some places in the resort to escap

    Hey Kelly-

    Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Find out what’s it like to be an Artist and Imagineer as you step into Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. We loved this high end Value Resort when we stayed there with my extended family of 10.

    Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - Riverside is slow-paced and bayou Louisiana inspired with landscaping meant for relaxation and de-stressing. If peace and tranquility are your main goals then here are some tips about Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.

    1. Request a Quite Room or Lake View. These rooms are further away from Animation Hall and the bus stop. It is typically more quite in these area. All Buildings have Quite Room and Lake View options.

    2. Swim and sunbathe at the Little Mermaid Pool. The Little Mermaid rooms are not suites which means fewer young Mousketeers running around.

    3. Take a scenic walk around Hourglass Lake. This 1.38-mile trail will help work off any tension. I love the historical date signs that reveal neat facts from years past. These are located along the trail when you enter Disney’s Pop Century Resort area.

    4. Cop-a-squat on some green space. There are lush grassy spaces and trees everywhere. Take a novel to read or picnic your lunch by Hourglass Lake.

    Disney Dad Tip: Hourglass Lake is beautiful and crossing Generation Gap bridge will take you to Disney’s Pop Century Resort where you can step back in time from the 1950’s to the 1990’s.
