Hello! My husband & I would love to come stay at the Poly but would prefer to sleep in a King size bed. How can I be guaranteed a King Bed when booking thru my vacation club?

Hi Lori! Welcome home and welcome back to planDisney! After a busy day at the theme parks, we all have our ways of unwinding and relaxing. For me, it’s having a Mickey-shaped ice cream bar on the balcony of my Disney Vacation Club villa (particularly, at Disney’s Riviera Resort while watching EPCOT’s Luminous The Symphony of Us nighttime spectacular). Lori, for you it sounds like having a comfortable king sized bed to rest your weary eyes. Now, let’s find you the bed of your dreams so you can rest like Sleeping Beauty!

At the new Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, and for most of the Disney Vacation Club Resorts, you are guaranteed a king sized bed within the primary bedroom of 1-bedroom villas and larger room types. These villas typically offer additional amenities such as a kitchen with a stove, dishwasher, and full-size refrigerator as well as an in-unit washer and dryer. Our family loves staying in 1-bedroom villas to prepare some meals and to do a load of laundry, because who likes doing a load of laundry right after you get back from vacation!

Additionally, there are some Resort hotel and club level rooms (i.e. not DVC villas) at the Polynesian that may offer king size beds based on availability, however booking those rooms with Vacation Points would require exchanging points through the Disney Collection and king beds are not always guaranteed.

While you’re at the Island Tower, I highly recommend checking out Wailulu Bar & Grill. This restaurant offers delicious Polynesian-inspired cuisine and unique beverages. If you're an adventurous eater, try the Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl, you won't regret it! Also, don’t forget to check out the beautifully decorated garden terraces that are exclusive to guests staying at the Island Tower. They’re perfect places to relax and admire the scenery of the Seven Seas Lagoon, and also a great way to view Magic Kingdom fireworks without the crowds!

Lori, I hope this helps you narrow down your choices as you plan your next Disney Vacation Club stay. If you think of any additional questions, please feel free to reach out to me and my fellow panelists here at planDisney!

    Your pal,
