My husband and I are looking for the times with the least amount of people in the winter of 2018 to come to WDW.Thanks. Andrea

Hey, Andrea! I can certainly understand how you may want to schedule your Walt Disney World Resort vacation when there are lower crowds. I have been to the parks when it was so busy that I characterized it as a "could not see pavement" kind of day, and we have been there when it seemed like we had the park to ourselves.

When picking a practically perfect time to visit the Resort with my family during the winter, there are two things I consider - school holidays and runDisney race weekends. You can certainly count on Thanksgiving week, the last two weeks of December and the first week of January being full of families experiencing very merry magic while the children are out for holiday school breaks. In my experience, there are a lot of guests looking for magically warm fun in the parks during the January Martin Luther King, Jr. Day weekend and the February Presidents' Day weekend. There are two runDisney races already planned for that winter - the Walt Disney World Marathon, set for January 9 - 13, 2019, and the Disney Princess Half Marathon, set for February 21 - 24, 2019. These are quite popular events and most runners bring their families for some pixie dusted adventures before or after the events.

Andrea, outside of the time periods I mentioned, winter is a great season to visit Walt Disney World Resort if you are looking for lower crowds. You will want to still plan FastPass+ selections for your must-do Disney attractions and make your Advance Dining Reservations as needed.

I hope this information helps you select a magical date for your Walt Disney World Resort vacation! Please let us know if we can help you plan more aspects of your trip.
