My husband and I are looking to take our first adult only trip next sept. Where are the King Bed Rooms at Riverside located? Moderate resorts will be in our budget. Thank you!!

Hi Adelle, and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I’m also planning my very first adult-only trip with my husband this coming January, and we are like kids in a candy store planning all our dining and activities. The Walt Disney World Resort holds so much magic for adults, and I’m so looking forward to wandering through our happy place, hopefully with a cocktail and snack in hand, with my best friend.

I think Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside is a fantastic pick for your adult-only getaway. The King Bed rooms are located throughout the resort, in both the Alligator Bayou and Magnolia Bend sections. You won’t be able to find a King Bed in a Royal Guest Room, but otherwise, you have a lot of options, Adelle.

I recently stayed in the Mansions in the Magnolia Bend section, and it’s what I would recommend for your getaway. Request a river view for the most charming and lovely views, and enjoy the gorgeous landscaping and atmosphere as you walk around the resort. There’s a bridge across the Sassagoula River that will take you to dining options, and we loved walking along the river over to Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter, where we could get their signature beignets or hop on a boat over to Disney Springs for fabulous dining, cocktails, shopping and entertainment.

The Port Orleans resorts are a great option, with tons of great recreation options. You could take a horse-drawn carriage ride or spend some time fishing, immersed in the beauty of the bayou setting. Another fun option is Painting on de’ Bayou, where you can create Disney-inspired art with the help of an instructor. That’s at Scat Cat’s Club, which is a great place to enjoy a cocktail and listen to jazz.

Adelle, I hope you and your husband enjoy every minute of your adult-only vacation. My fellow Panelists recently shared some great tips for maximizing your magic on an adults-only trip, and I hope those are helpful as you plan and dream. Come back and see us if we can answer any further questions!

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
