Lightsabers on Starcruiser

    My husband has a lightsavor reservation at 9:45pm which park is closes at 9pm will my child and I be able to wait for him to get done or will we have to leave the park at closing and wait for him outside the gate? Also will the skyliner by shut down at 10p

    Thank you for stopping by planDisney with your great question about transportation after the theme parks have closed.  I have been in a similar situation and am happy to help you with your plans.

    First, if you haven't already experienced Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios yet, prepare to be amazed!  I still remember the first time my family turned the corner and saw the Millennium Falcon because they all gasped and stopped in the middle of the walkway, nearly causing a pileup.  From being greeted with "Bright suns!" to sipping on some blue "Bantha" milk, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is so immersive you will forget that you are in Florida.  If you have a Star Wars fan in your family, this will be a visit to remember. 

    You will be happy to know that while your husband builds his lightsaber at Savi's Workshop, the rest of your group can wait nearby until he is finished.  The attractions will be closed, but the environment is still gorgeous and you are able to relax and can even take the opportunity to take some more photos or have a snack.  Be sure to check in 15-30 minutes early and let Savi's Gatherers know you are looking for some "scrap metal".  Remember, this is a covert operation, and you must protect its existence from the First Order.  After your husband checks in, he will be able to peruse the components of his lightsaber build and decide which theme he will select.  A couple of years ago my husband, my young adult son, and my preteen son all built lightsabers and it was the highlight of their trip.  Did you know that one other Guest may watch the building of the lightsaber?  My daughters and I watched as my husband and two sons built their lightsabers and the experience was incredible! 

    Now as for transportation back to your Disney Resort Collection hotel, you will also be happy to know that the Disney Skyliner will continue to run 90 minutes after the theme park closes.  Of course, weather and other circumstances can change things, but you will certainly have access to transportation back to your hotel after the reservation at Savi's Workshop even if you need to switch to bus transportation.
