Hi Amy,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. It’s always a pleasure to assist a fellow military family with their Walt Disney World planning. On behalf of all of us on the Panel, thank you to your husband and to your family for your service to our country.
The
fine print for the 2019 Disney Military Promotional Theme Park Tickets stipulates that valid military ID is required for both purchase and use. I’m not sure if your husband will be considered Retired when he leaves Active Duty this spring, but he must hold a valid military ID card at the time you use the tickets as well as the time they are purchased. Please see the eligibility notes on the offer linked above to see if your husband will meet the criteria at the time of your visit.
My friend and fellow military mom, Kristen, provides some
helpful tips for service members who are separated, but not retired, in this answer. As Kristen notes, the staff at Shades of Green are very familiar with eligibility requirements for various promotions, and I hope they can help you find some great options.
Amy, November is a wonderful time to visit Walt Disney World, and there’s a
special holiday magic in the air. As we get closer to the holidays, keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for details about special holiday events, treats, and activities around the theme parks, resorts, and Disney Springs. Please come back and see us if we can help with your planning and Disney dreaming.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
