Hello there, Krista! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We appreciate you taking the time to reach out and ask your wonderful Walt Disney World Resort question!
As someone that utilizes a wheelchair when visiting the park, I have some firsthand experience with navigating the parks and resort as a
Guest with a mobility disability. So, hopefully, I can provide you with a bit of insight for your upcoming trip!
When thinking of
Disney Resort hotels in the Value and Moderate categories that I would recommend to other Guests that use wheelchairs, I initially think of both
Disney's Pop Century Resort and
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside. Disney's Pop Century Resort guest room's recently underwent a resort-wide re-imagining and now feature fresh, unique designs. As much as I love the new look of these rooms, my favorite part of this re-imagining has got to be the increased space in the majority of rooms! Combined with the new vinyl flooring, Guests using wheelchairs inside of their rooms should have a bit of an easier time doing so following these updates.
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside is a larger resort but still feels slightly more accessible than the other Moderate category Disney Resort hotels, in my opinion. I always request a room that is a bit closer to the main dining and service area, Sassagoula Steamboat Company. I've also had fairly positive experiences with using my wheelchair inside of the guest rooms at this Disney Resort hotel!
I hope this information will assist you in choosing the right Disney Resort hotel for your family! Please let us know if we can answer any other questions for you!
