My husband, 2 kids (8, 6) and I have just decided (yesterday) to take a trip to WDW in 4 weeks. never been . besides reading this site what is a MUST for me to know or read? seems like MK, AK, and TL are the places to focus on or am i missing something?

Hi Brendan, Congrats on planning your last minute vacation.  My kids are the same age as yours, and they enjoy all four of the parks.  So, I'd definitely recommend including Epcot and Hollywood Studios in your plans if you can.  I'm not sure how many days you are going for, but you can probably fit in all four parks if you stay for five or more days (and get the park hopper option).

To get the most out of your trip, I definitely recommend that you pick up a guidebook or two to read.  Two of my favorites for first-timers are the Passporter and the Complete Idiot's Guide to Walt Disney World.  You'll be able to learn about attractions at each park and make a basic plan of what you want to do.

I hope that helps!  Have a great vacation!
