Hi Pat,
Can you feel the love tonight? Happy Anniversary to you! Fifty years is incredible. Of course, I will say that we are never too old for Disney!
Your question touched me because my husband and I also spent out honeymoon at the Walt Disney World® Resort. Those memories remain with us to this day. My suggestion would be to take the trip! And, then go at a pace that seems good for you and your husband.
I suggest that you definitely visit Magic Kingdom. If you have time and feel able, also visit EPCOT, Disney's Animal Kingdom, and Disney's Hollywood Studios. As much as I love Disney's Animal Kingdom, it does have some hills, so consider that when making a decision to visit. We adore seeing the animals and doing one of the
Enchanting Extras Collection experiences that teach about Disney's conservation efforts.
Caring for Giants and
Up Close with Rhinos have been tours we experienced on prior visits.
Now, on to the celebrations! The fireworks shows are simply stunning -
Happily Ever After at Magic Kingdom and
Luminous The Symphony of Us at EPCOT. If you want to see either show in the park, I recommend finding a viewing spot at least an hour prior to the show. At EPCOT, we always find a spot near
Port of Entry. At Magic Kingdom, we find a spot right in front of Cinderella Castle. If standing is not an option for you at Magic Kingdom, consider a
dessert party or, my personal favorite, book an
advanced dining reservation at California Grill. Check the Happily Ever After
calendar times for the date of your dinner at California Grill to make sure you book a time that will coincide with the fireworks. If the fireworks show is at 8:00 p.m. I would make a dinner reservation for 7:15 p.m. or 7:30 p.m.
One of my final suggestions would be to stay at a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel. We prefer resort hotels with Walt Disney World monorail access - Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa are distinctively gorgeous. There are lovely dining options and resort activities at each one. And, be sure to check the
reservation window information so that you make those dining and experience reservations as soon as that reservation window opens.
Pat, whatever you decide, continue to cherish each other!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
