Hi Jennifer and welcome back to planDisney.
I'm so excited to hear that you're planning a trip to
Walt Disney World next October. October is one of my favourite months to visit as the temperature has usually dropped a little from the heat of Summer, crowds are generally manageable and last but not least, because my favourite Special Event -
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will be taking place.
My family actually still have several MagicBands from back in 2019 which we used when we visited Walt Disney World last August and intend to use again this Summer. If you were experiencing problems with your older MagicBands when you visited in 2023, you will most likely need to purchase new ones as they are no longer provided free of charge to Disney Resort hotel Guests, like they were several years ago.
You will be pleased to hear that there are lots of plain coloured styles of MagicBands and MagicBand+ available to purchase in addition to the other designs. They are available to buy in many locations at Walt Disney World including World of Disney at
Disney Springs and in select Resort hotel shops. We usually find that
Disney's Pin Traders at Disney Springs has one of the widest selections.
If you didn't want to purchase new MagicBands, another option is to use a
Disney MagicMobile pass—available in the
My Disney Experience App. Or, upon your arrival, you can stop by the Front Desk of your Disney Resort hotel to pick up a Key to the World card, which can be used in lieu of a MagicBand for certain things such as entering your Disney Resort hotel room or charging purchases to your room.
I hope that this information has been of help, Jennifer. If we can be of any further assistance with the planning of your trip, please feel free to re-visit us, here at planDisney.
Wishing you a magical holiday filled with memories which will last a lifetime!
Emma
