My husband and I are heading to disney world Dec 8-Dec 12. I hear Pop Warner is there then also. Any tips for avoiding the onslaught of teens. We are leaving our's at home.

Hello Joyce!  I did some research at popwarner.com and on the various chat boards for feedback.  You didn't mention in your question where you'll be staying.  If you are staying at All Star Sports, All Star Music or Port Orleans Riverside, you may want to consider switching resorts if you want to stay away from the Pop Warner kids (note: the information on the Pop Warner website also mentions a contact number for All Star Movies - so they may be there as well).

The good news is, when the Pop Warner kids are at Disney, they spend most of the day at the Wide World of Sports complex with their competitions.  However, they do tend to go to the parks in the evenings.  Many of the reviews I've read indicate they travel in smaller groups of 6-8 and you don't really notice them in the parks.  However, if you are still worried, you may want to plan your itinerary opposite to the Pop Warner schedule - parks during the day and a nice dinner in the evening (the kids tend to eat in the food courts).

As far as my personal experience with Pop Warner kids, we stayed at All Star Sports on a vacation that happened to coincide with one of their events.  Although for the most part the kids behaved fairly well (for teens anyway!) there were some teens that seemed to be there for the sole purpose of causing trouble which made for a bad experience for other guests and they kept security busy.  The pools and food court were always packed with teens, elbow to elbow when we were there.  We vowed never to stay at All Stars again during Pop Warner events.

Overall, if you aren't staying at a resort mentioned above, you should be fine.  Have a magical vacation!  Diane
