My husband and I are headed to Disney World in September and we have the Disney Dining Plan. We are trying to make our reservations and in choosing our restaurants were wondering if all the entrees we see listed on the menu are available on the plan?

    Hi Jennie,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! How exciting to have your trip quickly approaching!

Having used the Disney Dining Plan and the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan, I am happy to report that, in our experience, the entrées listed on the restaurant menus have been available to us on the plan. As you make your dining reservations, I do have a few reminders.

    • Remember that your meal entitlements are calculated per night of stay. If you are staying for 6 nights, on the Disney Dining Plan, you would have 12 meal entitlements (6 quick-service and 6 table-service) and 12 snacks per person for your trip plus the resort refillable mugs. I always create a chart of our dining experiences so that I can make sure we do not run out of meal entitlements before the last day. We save one quick-service meal entitlement for the last day so that we can eat before departing.
    • When making advanced dining reservations, consider the geography of your day. Try to make dining reservations close to your last Fast Pass+ or take advantage of restaurants at your resort hotel. This idea is especially important at Epcot since there are so many restaurants around World Showcase.
    • Consider table-service meals a dining experience that should not be rushed. Then plan accordingly. I would allot at least an hour and a half for dinner, more if dining with a larger party.
    • Think about show times if you plan to see a show after dinner. For example, on our upcoming visit, the Happily Ever After fireworks show is scheduled for 9:15 p.m. On the first night we are dining in Magic Kingdom, we will be done with dinner by 7:30 p.m. so that we can find a viewing spot for the show.

Jennie, I trust that your husband and you will have a wonderful time on vacation!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
