My husband and I want to go to Orlando the first week in December. I heard it was the most quite time to go still with the holiday show correct? I also was concerned were to stay, we would like to stay somewhere romantic but fun inside Disney 4 nights.

    Hi Amber,

December is an extra magical time to visit Disney World!  (My Christmas Eve birthday might make me a bit biased, but it's my favorite time of year to travel "the World!")  The parks and resorts are decorated in a sea of holiday whimsy and fantasy!  The early part of the month is a great time to enjoy the decorations, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (a special holiday event at Magic Kingdom) and moderate crowds.  While it is not possible to predict crowds with complete certainty for a given week,  I was at Disney during the first week of December last year, and thought the crowds were completely manageable.

As for a romantic resort to call home for your December trip, I have a few suggestions.  The Beach Club and Grand Floridian are my romantic favorites in the deluxe category.  If you plan to spend a significant amount of time at Magic Kingdom, I'd vote for the Grand Floridian, as access to the monorail will make travelling to the park a snap.  This is Disney's flagship property, and it is filled with fabulous dining options, including the iconic Victoria and Albert's.  If, however, you plan to spend more time at Epcot or Hollywood Studios, I would pick the Beach Club, as both parks are a quick boat ride or walk away.   The Beach Club has a wonderful location near Disney's BoardWalk, making the dining and entertainment options here a great way to end your evenings.  In addition, you and your significant other can enjoy dinner at Epcot, Illuminations and a romantic stroll back "home."

In the moderate category, I would vote for Coronado Springs Resort.  This southwestern property is located around a beautiful lake, which makes a perfect backdrop for a leisurely, romantic walk in the evenings.  The rooms have been recently refurbished, and are absolutely lovely, with plush beds and dark wood furniture.

Whichever resort you chose, have a magical holiday trip!
