My husband must be gluten free. What restaurants would you recommend?

    Hi Tami,

Walt Disney World is a wonderful way for people with special dietary needs to eat stress free!  The key to this is planning ahead.  The chefs at every restaurant can accommodate your husband's gluten free diet.  You will need to make Advanced Dining Reservations which are available 180 days prior to your vacation, and specify either online or via phone about his dietary needs.  I want you also to call (407) 824-5967 and speak with a Cast Member about his needs.  You can also email them at specialdiets@disneyworld.com.  You will then get a follow up email full of information about gluten free dining.  There will be a form to fill out with the name of the person with the dietary restriction, contact information, and the restaurant Advanced Dining Reservations confirmation numbers, and it is made sure that the dietary information is connected with every reservation.  When you are dining, always tell your server that your husband has specific dietary needs as well.  At the Quick Service dining areas, the manager must be notified, and he will speak directly with the food-preparer and the food will be delivered to your table.  This will take longer than just ordering at the counter.  Any of the restaurants will accommodate your husband, Tami!  Also, if you are in Downtown Disney, check out Baby Cakes- a pastry shop which is all gluten free!  Enjoy.
