Welcome to planDisney, Elizabeth! Thanks so much for coming to us with your question today. The
Disney Dining Plan is one of my favorite ways to make the most out of my trip to Walt Disney World, and I'm happy to walk you through some of the details you need to know when you're deciding to purchase it.
Elizabeth, if you intend to add the Dining Plan to your vacation package, everyone staying in the same room needs to have the same plan. If your husband is staying in a room with other people using the Dining Plan, he will also need to have the same Dining Plan. I know this isn't exactly what you wanted to hear, but I do have a few tips that may help you decide if the plan is right for you! While your husband does have to have a dining plan, he does not necessarily have to be the one to use it. Your party's dining plan entitlements are pooled together and not assigned to one specific person, so someone else in your group can use them to get an extra snack, have another quick-service meal during the day, or use two table-service meal entitlements to enjoy a meal at a
signature restaurant.
If you do decide to get the dining plan, your husband can also make special requests at table-service
restaurants to meet his needs. The Cast Member serving you will always ask if your party has any dietary needs, and your husband can take this opportunity to have a discussion with the server and they will speak to the chef to see what kind of meal can be made. Everyone's goal is for you to have a safe and delicious meal that meets your needs, so that's also worth considering when you're thinking about purchasing the dining plan!
I hope this answers your question, Elizabeth, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation.
