Hi, my husband, four yr old son and I are going on Disney Dream 12/16/2012. We are concerned about the temperature and clothing needed. Also, will it be warm enough to swim on the boat or in Nassau or Castaway Cay?

    Hi Brooke,

The great part of traveling in December is that the weather will be gorgeous.  It won't be too hot or too cold in the Bahamas.  Average highs in the Bahamas are about 78 degrees; average lows are about 66 degrees.  The problem is the water temperature.  The ocean water typically runs approximately 10 degrees colder than the outside temperature making that water cold.  The good news is that the pools on Disney Cruise Line ships are heated when the water falls below 75 degrees so you should be able to swim while onboard.

Make sure you have a jacket for evenings.  It gets colder at night, and their air conditioning is top notch!  Please let me know if you have any other questions.  Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel.  Have a wonderful trip Brooke!

Magic Kingdom still takes my breath away, but my favorite place to be is on a Disney ship looking at the horizon and breathing in that crisp, clean ocean air!  I love planning Disney vacations for others and making sure it's more than they dreamed. Learn More About Marisol
