My husband and I are Florida residents and planning to visit the Epcot Center and spend a night or two at the Marina hotel in August. What would be the best day(s) in that month to attend? We have a birthday on the 10th of August.

    Hello!

We are delighted to see you stopping by planDisney with a question!

Well, this is an interesting question! Normally, I say that any time is a great time to visit the Walt Disney World® Resort. Looking at your possible arrival date, however, I would suggest checking the school calendars in the surrounding districts. I checked the Orange County school district's calendar and it looks like schools are back in session on August 12th. I mention this because one year, I happened to book a trip with my girls for August and, when we arrived, the parks were not crowded at all. I was pleasantly surprised. When I spoke with a cast member, they told me that the local kids had gone back to school so that had helped to reduce the crowd levels.

As you think about celebrating that birthday, take a look at the Enchanting Extras Collection. We love the special experiences that are a part of this collection. I also appreciate the fact that there are experiences at different price points and we have been able to find some that are within our budget. My family has celebrated a number of birthdays at the Walt Disney World® Resort. When you make advanced dining reservations, be sure to note the birthday when making the reservation. I also suggest considering the Disney Resorts Collection hotels, especially Disney's Contemporary Resort and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa because they are within walking distance to Magic Kingdom or Disney's Art of Animation Resort because it has access to the Disney Skyliner.

If you have not already purchased theme park tickets, be sure to do so and double-check the theme park reservation requirements. Since you are Florida Residents, I would also suggest that you consider joining the Annual Passholder family if you are not already Annual Passholders. Be sure to check the Blockout dates for the Annual Pass that you purchase. Finally, if you become a Passholder, do check the Special Offers on resort hotels for Annual Passholders. You could get a great deal!

I hope this helps you make a decision. Most important, I hope the birthday is spectacular!

    Magic and memories,
    Donyell
