Hi there! My husband and I will be going on our first ever cruise in September! We will have our 14 month old twins with us. I'm just curious if there are any tips and suggestions for what to expect or bring when traveling with little ones. Thanks!

    Hi Jennifer!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  I am so excited to hEAR that you have a Disney Cruise Line vacation planned for later this yEAR!  My husband and I have been cruising with Captain Mickey since our boys were both under one and I have absolutely no regrets about any of it!

As you are aware, any travel with little ones can be a little tricky and requires some extra planning, but luckily Disney Cruise Line has the littlest cruisers in mind and makes it very convenient.  You can request a pack and play for your stateroom, but one thing that I want to ensure you are aware of is that if you are all in one stateroom, typically only one pack and play is permitted.  We ran into this being an issue when traveling with a 16-month old and a three-month old, so we had to be a little creative in our sleeping arrangements.  But you’ll definitely want to request a pack and play and a diaper pail for your stateroom if you haven’t yet.  You can do this when you log into your “My Cruise Reservations” account under the “Special Requests” section.  Additionally, in the main dining rooms, your dining room servers will be able to prepare food for your little ones during dinner service, which is especially helpful if you have picky eaters (like I did and still do!).  I do recommend bringing snacks with you because well, snacks make everything better and can deter a meltdown easily!

Strollers…bring two umbrella-sized strollers.  Anything bigger will be hard to store in your stateroom.  My guys would often fall asleep in their stroller and it was easy to roll them right into the room because you NEVER want to wake a sleeping baby!  Bring a sound machine and definitely utilize the onboard nursery!

    Happy Sailing!
