Ahoy Melissa!
Welcome back to planDisney, I'm so excited you're about to embark on your first cruise! There is so much to explore when you're planning for a Disney Cruise, so let's dive right in.
There are complimentary celebration buttons at
Guest Services on Disney Cruise Line ships! There may not be one for a first cruise, but you can always use a general celebration button for any occasion! You can also fill out a
special request form online if you'd like your cruise team to celebrate an event with you. It might be fun to order something special from
Onboard Gifts to say "bon voyage" for your first sailing, too!
The planDisney Podcast has a great episode full of tips for first-time cruisers! It's a super fun episode and will give you a good idea of what to expect on your cruise. I'd also recommend using the
Disney Cruise Line website to explore the ship you'll be sailing on to see what unique activities, dining, and entertainment you'll get to enjoy! Here are a few other great planning resources:
Now for the fun stuff...let's talk about food first! We love to take a little extra time to enjoy breakfast in a dining room (although we love the buffet, too). It's just such a peaceful way to start the day! I also highly recommend using
room service to relax in your stateroom with an afternoon snack or late-night treat. Most room service items are included in your cruise fare! One of my favorite parts of cruising with Disney is the
rotational dining each evening. You'll enjoy each of the three main dining rooms on your ship at least once, all while taking your magical dining team with you!
There are so many activities on each cruise and you can find everything listed in the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App! The "not to be missed" item in my opinion is the evening entertainment in the
Walt Disney Theater. Each ship hosts three Broadway-worthy shows full of beautiful music, stunning costumes, and characters we know and love! It's just the perfect way to end a day full of Disney magic.
Melissa, you can actually download the app now to use the countdown clock as your cruise gets closer! It's a very cute way to watch the days, hours, and even minutes tick away until embarkation day. We're really just scratching the surface with these ideas, but I hope they've got you excited for your cruise. Please sail back over if you have more questions for us!
Keep moving forward!
