My husband and I enjoyed a great time at Disney World in December. I purchased a MagicBand. However, I am not sure if it is a MagicBand+ or not, I also don't know if I can use the MagicBand purchased in Disney World in Disneyland. Please help!

    Hiya Debi!

Welcome back to planDisney! I'm so glad you had a wonderful visit to the Walt Disney World Resort last year, and I'm excited that you'll be heading to the Disneyland Resort soon!

There are a few features that distinguish Disney MagicBand+ from older versions of the bands. First, did your band come with a charging cable? Then it's a MagicBand+ for sure! MagicBand+ is also the only version that lights up. You can definitely use your MagicBand+ at the Disneyland Resort!

I do have a few tips to help you use your band successfully during your trip:

    1. I highly recommend deleting the My Disney Experience app you used in Florida. A mobile device can only handle so much pixie dust, and it's easier to get your band working in California without competing apps, in my experience.
    2. Download the Disneyland Mobile App before your trip so you can pair your band and download any updates if needed.
    3. Make sure your band is charged up before you pair it with the Disneyland Mobile App.
    4. Follow these instructions to pair your band to the Disneyland Mobile App.
    5. Assign your band to your ticket (just like you did at Walt Disney World Resort) and enjoy!
There are lots of similar functionalities for the bands between the Disney Resorts, but not everything is exactly the same. Attraction photos at the Disneyland Resort need to be linked to your Disneyland Mobile App by entering the code from the preview screen (I like to take a quick photo of the preview to save the code), your band won't automatically link them to your account. But you can use your band to enter the parks, "tap in" at Lightning Lane queues if you're using Disney Genie+ Service, and gather photos from Disney PhotoPass Photographers!

I love it when my MagicBand+ surprises me at attractions! You might notice your band "powering up" at special locations, especially during shows. It's so fun to feel like you're a little part of the magic! I especially notice my band when exploring Avenger's Campus...if you decide to swing over to WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure I bet your tech will activate your Spidey senses!

Debi, you are planning to visit the Disneyland Resort during one of my favorite times of the year. The weather is usually gorgeous, and I love enjoying the flowers across the parks! I hope you'll take some time to enjoy the beauty of the parks. Please let us know if you have other questions we can help with!

    Keep moving forward!
