My husband can earn Disney gift cards through a selling program at his work. We figure we can get $3000 of gift cards by Dec. 1st and want to take our DD ages 4 & 2 for a week over Christmas. Is it too late to start planning for this year?

    Hello, Micheline!

It's absolutely not too late to start planning for a Christmas '12 trip to Walt Disney World at this time!  What a great way to take your little princesses to the happiest place on Earth at the most magical time of the year, too!

I just checked Walt Disney World's online reservation system for various categories of rooms over Christmas week, and there were many available at this time.  To be sure that you find the perfect resort for your special stay, I suggest that you book your package as early as possible.  This will allow you to book your dining reservations when it is 180 days until your check-in.  Keep in mind that you can reserve your Table-Service meals for the duration of your trip, once it's 180 prior to check-in.  This means that if you have a particular experience in mind, say breakfast with princesses at Cinderella's Royal Table, for example, or dining with Winnie the Pooh and friends at The Crystal Palace (or just a special holiday meal if you're in Walt Disney World on a holiday), you'll be far more likely to get those reservations because you booked them so early.  We ate Thanksgiving dinner in Cinderella Castle, as a party of 8 not too long ago, which I know was made possible simply because we booked so early.

Should there be any additional activities you'd like to reserve, such as princess makeovers at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, you should reserve those as early as you can, too, since Christmas week is so popular.

Please send additional questions as you think of them! I'd love to help make your holiday season in Walt Disney World the most magical it can be!
