Hey there,
Megan, thanks for stopping by planDisney with this question about your potential stay with your hubby. Setting your sights on the
Walt Disney World Resort will be the best location for a pickup all year. Like Mack on the highway with Lightning McQueen in tow, your duo will be headed straight to pick up the magic and haul it back home. The good news is most
Disney Resort Collection Hotels have space for you to park your 18-wheeler. Some may have smaller parking lots because of space, but the majority I have stayed at always had a full sized RV, charter bus, and even 18-wheelers parked in the lot. When you are choosing your resort I would recommend
calling to book your reservation. During this call be sure to mention this to the agent you get on the phone. While most resorts do have designated areas for over-sized parking, they may not be near your room.
Leading up to your stay you should start to make plans for traveling between the parks. Staying at a Disney Resort does give you standard parking for free, but if you plan on firing up the truck to get to Magic Kingdom, you will have to pay the difference for the over-sized parking each day you visit the parks. If you are park hopping make sure you save your receipt. Show this receipt at the next park, and the Cast Members will guide you to the area for your type of vehicle without having to pay again. You can also leave the driving to Disney and use the free transportation. My favorite form of transportation is the waterways and the monorail. These are the smoothest and most relaxing ways to start your park day.
Disney’s Skyliner is the newest and very popular method that takes you to and from select resorts,
EPCOT, and
Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This gondola system is a very efficient and reliable way to get from place to place.
I hope this information is helpful for starting to plan your visit. Stop by again anytime to
planDisney.com and we will be happy to help.
Have a magical day,
Jeremy A.
