My husband and I are doing a quick trip in October and are staying at Port Orleans Riverside. We have booked a standard room. Any opinions on which building to request? We would like to be near a bus stop and not too far from the front of the property.

Well, hey there, Lisa! Welcome to planDisney! It's the bees' knees to see you here with such a great question!

Before you know it, you and your husband will be embarking on your magical adventure at the Most Most Magical Place on Earth. I know you must be getting so excited! With its charming Louisiana vibes, great pools, fantastic food and location within a short, scenic boat ride of Disney Springs, Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside will make the perfect pixie-dusted home away from home for the two of you. This New Orleans girl approves! My family and I recently returned home from a wonderful stay here, so let's dig a little deeper into my recommendations for room locations.

If you'd like to be near a bus stop, you're in luck! There are four bus stops scattered around the Resort, so no matter which building you're in, you won't be too far from one. But since you're also hoping for a room closer to the lobby, dining and shopping, I recommend requesting the Magnolia Bend section of the Resort, specifically building 90. There are bridges connecting the lobby area and Magnolia Bend, so even though you have to cross the river, these rooms are not far from the lobby.

When my family and I were recently at the Resort, we did notice that some of the buildings in the Magnolia Bend section were unavailable due to refurbishments, so keep that in mind when making your room request. I'd suggest requesting a room near the lobby to keep it simple. While room requests are based on availability and not guaranteed, the Cast Members will do everything they can to make sure that dreams do come true in New Orleans.

No matter where your room is located, you and your husband are sure to have a fabulous stay. But once you arrive, I recommend giving yourself some time to explore. There are several paths and bridges around this beautiful Resort, and sometimes, it may be faster to cross through Ol' Man Island (where the main pool is) to get from your room to the dining and shopping. So, just use the map you receive upon arrival (either digital or paper) to navigate the fastest way from your room to the fun. Like Tiana, you're almost there, Lisa!

One more thing! I cannot let you go without recommending my favorite foods at Port Orleans - Riverside. For breakfast, I must have the Avocado Breakfast Bowl (it is big enough to share!), and for dinner, I am absolutely in love with the Citrus-Basil Salmon at Riverside Mill Food Court. I am not ashamed to admit that I ate this every day on my last trip! And of course, you have to take the lovely, short stroll over to Port Orleans - French Quarter for some Mickey beignets! Mmmm.

I hope this helps, Lisa, and I'll be wishing upon the evening star that you get the room of your Disney dreams. Please feel free to stop by any time with any questions you may have. Think of planDisney as your friends on the other side.

    Blue skies and sunshine,

    Mandy
